48 - Services: Demolition of 12 Properties
End date: Wednesday October 24, 2007 at 2 p.m.Plans and specifications are available weekdays, 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM. All inquiries should reference the bid number and the opening dates. Bids will be available at the Department of Purchase on Wednesday, September 26, 2007. A non-refundable mailing fee in the amount of $35.00 in the form of a certified or bank check to the order of "The City of Springfield, MA" is required if you are requesting bid to be mailed or a commercial packaging service account number (UPS, FEDEX etc.).
Demolition or deconstruction of each specified building plus any other building(s) on the same premises. The specified building addresses: 20 Austin Street, 291 Bay Street, 109-113 Bay Street, 126 College Street, 1516 Dwight Street, 31 Laurence Street, 14 Lois Street, 160 Marion Street, 3 Niagara Street & 31 Saratoga Street; 187 William Street, 1279 Worcester Street and 162 Wrentham Road.
Bidding procedures are per Massachusetts General Laws (M.G.L.) Chapter 149 as amended, and other applicable statutes. Estimated cost of project is ($405,000.00) Dollars.
Site Visit
Sites will be open and available for inspection on October 10, 2007 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Bidders may contact Mr. Carl Dietz, Office of Housing and Neighborhood Services, at 413-787-6500.
All bidders are advised that the minimum wage rate schedule, issued by the Division of Occupational Safety is included in the specifications and shall prevail in the work on this project.
All bidders are advised that the City of Springfield encourage the use of Minority and Women owned Business (MWBE) and that the City will not enter into an agreement with any provider of goods or services who has not demonstrated a good faith effort to comply with the City's goal of twenty percent MWBE participation.
Deadline for Questions
All questions regarding the specifications or drawings of this request or of the process of this procurement shall be addressed, in writing to the Chief Procurement Officer and received by the close of business on October 17, 2007. Facsimile communications are acceptable.
The City reserves the right to waive any informality in, or to revoke, any or all bids if it be in the public interest to do so.
The City of Springfield supports the goal of twenty percent minority and women participation in all contracts. No questions will be answered unless received by the Chief Procurement Officer at least 7 days prior to the expiration of the time set for submitting bids or proposals. The Chief Procurement Officer reserves the right to waive any informality in and to reject any or all bids if it is in the public interest to do so.
