369 - Request for Qualifications: Accreditation of the Springfield Flood Control System

End date: Wednesday July 2, 2008 at 2 p.m.

The City of Springfield is seeking an engineering consulting firm to provide complete engineering services to provide documentation that the Springfield Flood Control System (SFCS) meets the requirements of 44 CFR Section 65.10 of the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) regulations. All work performed under this contract shall be under the direction of a professional engineer and a land surveyor licensed in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

The Managing Authority for this project will be the Department of Public Works, City of Springfield. The Consultant will report to the Public Works Director or his designee.

All firms submitting proposals must visit this site in order to see first hand what is required for the project. Bidders may contact Mr. Al Chwalek, Director of DPW at (413)787-6224 to set up an appointment.

The City of Springfield supports the goal of twenty percent minority and women participation in all contracts. No questions will be answered unless received by the Chief Procurement Officer at least 7 days prior to the expiration of the time set for submitting bids or proposals. The Chief Procurement Officer reserves the right to waive any informality in and to reject any or all bids if it is in the public interest to do so.
