27 - Redevelopment of 388 Central Street

The City of Springfield is requesting proposals for the redevelopment of 388 Central Street. The property is located in the Six Corners neighborhood. The property consists of one large parcel including a vacant nursing home built in 1964 on a 55,154 square foot lot.

The City\\\'s goal is that any development be compatible with the character of Springfield and enhance the positive qualities of then neighborhood.

The City is soliciting proposals from developers interested in undertaking a major development project. The Request For Proposals has been developed to permit maximum flexibility to potential developers. Developers are requested to provide their own development concept plan consistent with surrounding land uses. Proposals shall also contain an analysis of the method in which the Proposer will mitigate the impacts upon transportation, utilities, the environment, etc. caused by the proposed project.

A site tour will be held on September 22, 2006 at 10:00 AM.

A pre-bid technical assistance workshop will be held on Wednesday, September 27, 2006 at 1:00 PM (EST). Workshops are intended as a resource tool for potential respondents. Assistance in the completion of a submission including any assistance in assembling a development team and/or financial analysis cannot be provided.Workshop will be held at the Office of Housing and Neighborhood Services
