233 - Services: Demolition/Deconstruction of Eight Properties

Demolition or deconstruction of each specified building plus any other building(s) on the same premises. The specified building addresses: 8 Arlington Street, 10 Arlington Street, 96 Chestnut Street - Indian Orchard, 31-33 Eagle Street, 91 Larchmont Street, 79-81 Princeton Street, 9-11 Warner Street and 88 Westford Circle.

Bidding procedures are per Massachusetts General Laws (M.G.L.) Chapter 149 as amended, and other applicable statutes. Estimated cost of project is Three Hundred Thousand ($300,000.00) Dollars.

Site Visit
Sites will be open and available for inspection on March 12, 2008 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Bidders may contact Mr. Carl Dietz, Office of Housing and Neighborhood Services, at 413-787-6500.

Plans and specifications are available weekdays, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. A non-refundable deposit of $35.00 in the form of a certified or bank check to the order of "The City of Springfield, MA" is required. All inquiries should reference the bid number and the opening dates. Bids will be available at the Department of Purchase on Wednesday, March 5th, 2008.

The City of Springfield supports the goal of twenty percent minority and women participation in all contracts. No questions will be answered unless received by the Chief Procurement Officer at least 10 days prior to the expiration of the time set for submitting bids or proposals. The Chief Procurement Officer reserves the right to waive any informality in and to reject any or all bids if it is in the public interest to do so.
