347 - PA: Generator Maintenance Services

The City of Springfield is requesting bids for a vendor to provide all materials and labor associated with generator maintenance services at various Schools and Public Buildings, owned by the City of Springfield, under the supervision of the Department of Parks, Buildings and Recreation Management-Facilities Division. The Contractor will have at least 10 years of experience in all phases of generator maintenance services. Any employee assigned to work on the generators will have at least two years of full-time experience.

A 5% certified check, letter of credit or bond, payable to the City of Springfield, must accompany each bid. A 50% Labor and Materials and Performance bond, shall be required from successful bidder. A letter of credit will be considered from successful bidder in lieu of bonds. Surety bonds will only be accepted by surety companies licensed by the division of insurance to transact business in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

The conditions of employment and minimum wage rates as set forth by the Massachusetts Division of Occupational Safety shall prevail in the execution of the work under the contract. Wages are subject to minimum wage rates as per MGL Chapter 149, Sections 26-27G.

Estimated cost per year is $30,000.00. This price agreement has an option to renew for two additional one- year terms.

The City of Springfield supports the goal of twenty percent minority and women participation in all contracts. No questions will be answered unless received by the Chief Procurement Officer at least 7 days prior to the expiration of the time set for submitting bids or proposals. The Chief Procurement Officer reserves the right to waive any informality in and to reject any or all bids if it is in the public interest to do so.
