309 - RFP: The Evaluation of the MMSP Science Content Grant

The City of Springfield, MA Public Schools Science Department is going out to bid for a grant evaluator for their MMSP Science Content Grant.

The MMSP Science Content Grant is a partnership among the Springfield Public Schools, Holyoke Public Schools and The Five Colleges, Inc. to provide science content courses in the four strands of MA Science and Technology/Engineering Framework. This is the last summer of the grant during which we will be offering the following science courses:
"Integrated Science Light", offered through Amherst College
"Technology/Engineering", offered through UMASS School of Engineering and "Mathematics in the Science Framework", offered through Mt Holyoke College.

For this the final year of the grant the evaluation should include not only an evaluation of the third year, but also a written report that summarizes evaluations of the three years of the project.

The estimated cost is $10,000.00. Bidding procedures shall be per M.G.L. Chapter 30B.

Consideration will be given to grant evaluators with experience in evaluation of science grants, especially with previous experience in evaluating the MMSP program. The work on this grant should begin on June 15, 2006 with a final written report due on August 20, 2006.

The City of Springfield supports the goal of twenty percent minority and women participation in all contracts. No questions will be answered unless received by the Chief Procurement Officer at least 7 days prior to the expiration of the time set for submitting bids or proposals. The Chief Procurement Officer reserves the right to waive any informality in and to reject any or all bids if it is in the public interest to do so.
