289 - Consultants to Provide Professional Engineering Services

SERVICE REQUIRED: The City of Springfield (City) through its Department of Public Works (DPW) and other various City Departments wishes to engage a multi-disciplined engineering firms (Consultants) for a variety of important services on an "as needed" basis. This procurement will cover the general engineering needs of the DPW. The Consultants may be required to accomplish projects, which require special expertise and/or are too large for execution by the City.

The City retains the right to procure similar engineering services outside of any contract entered into as a result of this bid solicitation

Contract is for one year, with two optional renewal years at the sole option of the City of Springfield.

A Pre-Proposal Conference will be held on May 10, 2006 at 10:00 AM at Department of Public Works, 70 Tapley Street, Springfield, MA 01104.

A non-refundable deposit of $50.00 in the form of a certified or bank check to the order of the "City of Springfield, MA" is required for each Project Manual. A non-refundable check, to the order of Department of Purchase, in the amount of $10.00 is required of parties requesting the documents be mailed. All inquiries should reference the bid number and the opening dates.

The City of Springfield supports the goal of twenty percent minority and women participation in all contracts. No questions will be answered unless received by the Chief Procurement Officer at least 7 days prior to the expiration of the time set for submitting bids or proposals. The Chief Procurement Officer reserves the right to waive any informality in and to reject any or all bids if it is in the public interest to do so.
