Service Alert for April 16-17:
On behalf of SWSC, Baltazar Construction will be connecting a new water main to the distribution system in St. James Avenue in East Springfield. During the overnight hours of April 16-17, 2024 customers in this area will experience a temporary shut down of their water service in order to complete the work on the water main. The planned shutdown hours are 10 PM – 6 AM.
During this time customers in this area are advised they will have limited to no water service. Businesses and residents in the area have received advance notice through mailed letters and door postings.
This planned water main replacement project is being completed in coordination with MassDOT’s upgrades of St. James Avenue.
Traffic Management:
During the project MassDOT’s traffic plan calls for a one-lane alternating traffic pattern on this portion of St. James Avenue, managed with posted signs and police details.
