Wednesday, March 22, 2017

Mayor Domenic J. Sarno and Executive Director of Parks, Buildings and Recreation Management Patrick J. Sullivan announce that Ryan Hall has been hired at the new Golf Professional for Franconia and Veterans Golf Courses.

Springfield native Ryan Hall is a 1994 graduate of Cathedral High School. At a young age he fostered a love of golf and played at both the high school and collegiate level.  He began his professional career as an assistant to Dave DiRico at Agawam’s Crestview Country Club in the late 1990’s, and spent five years under his tutelage. Ryan began his tenure at The Golf Club of Avon in Avon, CT in 2000 as the first Assistant Golf Professional under long time PGA pro Don Malen. In 2010, Ryan became the Head Golf Professional at the same private 27-hole course.

Ryan is devoted to the game of golf and the business that is enveloped within.  He has been named Merchandiser of the Year in 2011 for the private sector along with other accolades throughout his career.  His wife Amber Conte Hall is also a native to the Western Massachusetts area.  The couple has three children together.

Mayor Sarno stated, “The City has a long history of providing quality conditions at our two municipal golf courses. Ryan Hall is a PGA certified Golf Professional and will provide the public a great experience for our facilities. I am very excited for the opportunity under Mr. Hall to bring back the junior tournament and expanded lessons for both youth and adults.”

Patrick Sullivan stated, “The Department of PBRM is very excited for the opportunity to contract with Ryan Hall. Ryan has outstanding credentials as a PGA pro and will help the city restore the reputation of our two courses. The Parks Department takes great pride in providing this recreational opportunity for our residents and surrounding communities.  We look forward to announcing future programs discussed in our interview, which will include a junior golf camp, expanded lessons and additional golfing activities to encourage juniors to explore their interest in golf.”
