November 12, 2013 -Springfield, MA- A delegation from County Donegal in Ireland visited Springfield. The delegation was received by Mayor Domenic J. Sarno and Congressman Richard E. Neal. The delegation included Cllr. Ian McGarvey, Mayor of County Donegal, Cllr Noel McBride, Cllr. Paschal Blake, Mayor of Letterkenny, Mr. Seamus Neely, Manager Donegal County Council, Mr. Michael Heaney, Director of Service Donegal County Council and Dr. John Doran of the Letterkenny Institute of Technology.
The Visit was arranged by the Western Massachusetts Economic Development Council (EDC) and the Greater Springfield Convention and Visitors Bureau. The visit was arranged to further cement the relationship that the EDC has been fostering with the West of Ireland in new business opportunities and tourism.
