Springfield Police & Fire Victorious in Dragon Boat Festival

Springfield, Mass. — Springfield Police Superintendent Lawrence E. Akers would like to congratulate the members of the Springfield First Responders' Dragon Boat team on winning their division on Saturday.  

The Pioneer Valley Riverboat Club hosted its annual Dragon Boat Races on Saturday July 19th in the Connecticut River.  

The Springfield First Responders team was comprised of Springfield Police Officers, Captain Julio Toledo, Glenda Saez, Christian Torres-Jimenez, Oumar Keita, Angel Monserrate, Theresa Plasse, Danny Ortiz, Edgar Perez, Yulive Peralta, Denise Toledo, Juan Taveras, Eric Finch and Abraham Rivera.  They were joined by Springfield Firefighters Tennison Clarke and Kenneth Korzec.  

This is the Springfield First Responders fourth Dragon Boat championship in five years.
