SPD FIU Detectives Arrest Suspect on Warrants, Recover Illegal Firearm

Springfield, Mass. — On Tuesday July 15th at approximately 7:25 a.m., members of the Springfield Police Firearms Investigation Unit (FIU), Hampden County Sheriff's Department, United States Marshals Fugitive Task Force and Massachusetts State Police VFAS seized an illegal firearm and arrested 27-year-old Paul Mock.  

A few minutes earlier, Detectives, Sheriff's Deputies and Troopers went to Mock's home on the 0-100 block of East Park Street for a warrant service.  Mock was wanted on charges in connection with a firearm-armed domestic kidnapping and assault.  Mock was located and placed under arrest.  

During a search of his apartment, a loaded firearm was located and seized.  

27-year-old Paul Mock of Springfield is charged with:

  • Possession of a Firearm without an FID Card
  • Possession of Ammunition without an FID Card
  • Improper Storage of a Firearm
  • Convicted Felon in Possession of a Firearm
  • Arrest Warrant
