Springfield Police Homicide Unit Investigation Leads to Arrest of Suspect in Connection with February 25th Murder
Springfield, Mass. — Springfield, Mass. --- An investigation by the Springfield Police Homicide Unit under the direction of Captain Trent Duda in conjunction with the Hampden District Attorney’s Murder Unit has led to the arrest of 60-year-old Robert Hatcher in connection with a February 25th, 2025, murder on Allen Park Road.
At approximately 3:00 a.m. February 25th, Springfield Police Officers were dispatched to the 0-100 block of Allen Park Road for unknown trouble. When officers entered the home, they located two gunshot victims. An adult female, identified as 54-year-old Leslie Westbrook, succumbed to her injuries on scene. An adult male was transported to Baystate with non-life-threatening injuries.
The Springfield Police Homicide Unit under the direction of Captain Duda began investigating. Detectives identified Hatcher as a suspect. Detectives applied for and were granted a warrant for his arrest.
At approximately 6:10 a.m. on Wednesday July 2nd, members of the Springfield Police Firearms Investigation Unit, Springfield Police Emergency Services Unit, Springfield Police Officers, and Hampden County Sheriff’s Department executed the warrant at Hatcher’s home on the 200 block of Stapleton Road. Hatcher was taken into custody inside his home. He is expected to be arraigned in Springfield District Court on Thursday morning.

- Strangulation or Suffocation
- Armed Robbery
