SPD FIU Investigation Leads to the Recovery of Two Illegal Firearms

Springfield, Mass. — On Thursday June 12th at approximately 6:15 a.m., members of the Springfield Police Firearms Investigation Unit (FIU) under the direction of Lieutenant Jaime Bruno along with members of the Hampden County Sheriff's Department and Springfield Police K9 Unit seized two illegal firearms, crack-cocaine, marijuana and cash after executing a search warrant on the 100 block of Garland Street.  

Over the past several months, FIU Detectives have been investigating the illegal distribution of crack-cocaine with Howard Dukes being the target of the investigation.  Detectives applied for and were granted a search warrant for his home on Garland Street.  

Thursday morning, the search warrant was executed.  Dukes was located in the bathroom allegedly flushing drugs down the toilet.  Dukes and several other occupants were detained.  During a search of the home, Springfield Police K9 Flexx alerted Detectives to drugs and guns.  Detectives recovered two illegal firearms, more than the legal amount of marijuana, crack-cocaine and cash.  Dukes, Aziyah Glover and Eu'Kali Glover were placed under arrest.  

50-year-old Howard Dukes of Springfield is charged with:

  • Possession with the Intent to Distribute a Class B Drug
  • Tampering or Destruction of Evidence

21-year-old Aziyah Glover of Springfield is charged with:

  • Possession of a Firearm without an FID Card (Two Counts)
  • Possession of a Large Capacity Firearm
  • Possession of Ammunition without an FID Card (Two Counts)
  • Receiving Stolen Property Less than $1200
  • Improper Storage of a Firearm (Two Counts)
  • Possession with the Intent to Distribute a Class D Drug

22-year-old Eu'Kali Glover of Springfield is charged with:

  • Possession of a Firearm without an FID Card (Two Counts)
  • Possession of Ammunition without an FID Card (Two Counts)
  • Receiving Stolen Property Less than $1200
  • Improper Storage of a Firearm (Two Counts)
  • Possession with the Intent to Distribute a Class D Drug
