Springfield, Mass. — On Wednesday September 2nd at approximately 2:30 p.m., members of the Springfield Police Firearms Investigation Unit (FIU) under the direction of Sergeants David Robillard and Evan Donermeyer arrested three suspects on the 0-100 block of Spring Street and would later recover a trafficking weight of crack-cocaine and nearly 500 bags of heroin.

Over the past several weeks FIU Detectives have been investigating uptick in violence in the Spring Street corridor believed to be connected in part, to drug distribution in the area.

Shortly before 2:30 p.m., Detectives conducted a traffic stop and detained two subjects.  Two additional known subjects, Timothy Ortiz and Raziel Garcia attempted to run away, but were quickly detained.  Detectives located more than 50 grams of crack-cocaine inside a vehicle they stopped.  Garcia, Ortiz and Jadyen Colon were placed under arrest.  The fourth subject was released.
