SPD Congratulates Sergeants James and Monique McCoy on their Retirement

Springfield, Mass. — On behalf of the Springfield Police Department, Superintendent Lawrence E. Akers congratulates Sergeants James and Monique McCoy on their Retirement.

Sergeant Monique McCoy joined the Springfield Police Department in 1994 and was promoted in 2014.  She has served the community in the Uniform Division, Youth Aid Bureau, Student Support Unit and the Detective Bureau.  Most recently she was a Sergeant in the Internal Investigation Unit.  

Sergeant James McCoy has served the city of Springfield as a Police Officer for 28 years, joining the department in 1998.  He worked in the Uniform Division, Youth Aid Bureau and Detective Bureau, serving many years as a Sergeant in the Forensics Unit and most recently in the Crimes against Property Division.  

We thank them for their service and wish them a happy and healthy retirement!
