Superintendent Akers Recognizes Officer Daniel Moynahan for Serving our Community

Springfield, Mass. --- Springfield Police Superintendent Lawrence E. Akers would like to publicly recognize Officer Daniel Moynahan of the Neighborhood Stabilization Bureau for serving the public in a manner that shines a positive light on our department. 

Superintendent Akers received a letter from a property manager in the city. In part it reads, “I am writing to formally commend and recognize the outstanding actions of Officer Moynahan for assisting our community by removing a dangerous drug dealer who has been wreaking havoc throughout our properties and threatening the health of safety of our tenants.  May of our residents are elderly or disabled and have had to deal with drug users sleeping in our hallways, climbing fences and threatening tenants to gain access to our buildings. 

Officer Moynahan helped to solve this ongoing situation, and the drug dealer was arrested.  I could not be more pleased or relieved.”
