Warrant Service Leads to Seizure of Loaded Firearm
Springfield, Mass. --- On Thursday May 28th at approximately 9:30 a.m., members of the Springfield Police Firearms Investigation Warrant Apprehension Unit, Hampden County Sheriff’s Department, Massachusetts State Police VFAS and United States Marshals Fugitive Task Force seized a loaded firearm and arrested one suspect on the 0-100 block of Chestnut Street.
Around 6:30 a.m., officers were conducting warrant service for a suspect inside an apartment on Chestnut Street. During a search for the suspect, officers located a loaded firearm. Officers applied for and were granted a search for the apartment and seized the gun. The firearm was loaded with 10 rounds of ammunition.
Officers placed 31-year-old Michael Logan under arrested and criminally summonsed an adult female occupant of the apartment. The initial suspect with the active warrant was not located at this time.
31-year-old Michael Logan of East Hartford, Connecticut is charged with:
- Possession of a Firearm without a License
- Possession of Ammunition without an FID Card
- Improper Storage of a Firearm
