Superintendent Akers Recognizes Officer Kelley Diederich for Serving our Community

Springfield, Mass. --- Springfield Police Superintendent Lawrence E. Akers would like to publicly recognize Officer Kelley Diederich for serving the public in a manner that shines a positive light on our department.

A manager at Big Y contacted Springfield Police Detectives who relayed their message to Superintendent Akers thanking Officer Diederich for her quick response and subsequent arrests of a repeat shoplifter.   The manager thanked Officer Diederich for her actions which were “greatly appreciated” by the managers and staff of Big Y.  The suspect has been a persistent shoplifter and a problem for Big Y employees. Officers have cited or arrested this suspect on numerous occasions.  On Wednesday, the suspect was located and arrested on a Default Warrant out of Quincy District Court and Officer Diederich notified the suspect that he has been trespassed from the Big Y grocery store.
