Springfield Police Help Save Suicidal Teen

Springfield, Mass. — At approximately 11:10 p.m. Tuesday May 5th, Springfield Police Officers responded to the Memorial Bridge for a report of a potential suicidal individual.  

Officers arrived and located a 15-year-old girl who had one leg over the guardrail and was visibly distraught.  Officers attempted to develop a rapport to convince to come off the rail on her own, before surrounding her and guiding her safely away from the ledge.  Officers discovered that she had two bricks in her pants while on the bridge.  

The teenager was transported to the hospital to receive any help that she is need of.
