Loaded Firearm Seized from Violent Repeat Offender
Springfield, Mass. — On Sunday May 3rd at approximately 4:00 p.m., Springfield Police Officers under the direction of Lieutenant James Trubia arrested two suspects and seized a loaded firearm.
About ten minutes earlier, officers responded to the 0-100 block of Girard Avenue for a report of shots fired. Officers arrived and located the suspect vehicle with two occupants inside, identified as Larry Green and Christian Hernandez.
During a search of the vehicle, officers recovered a loaded firearm. Officers also seized more than 50 bags of marijuana and crack-cocaine. Green and Hernandez were placed under arrest.
Green has previously been convicted of armed assault with intent to murder and two prior firearm possession charges.
32-year-old Larry Green of Springfield is charged with:
- Convicted Felon in Possession of a Firearm
- Carrying a Loaded Firearm without a License
- Carrying a Firearm without a License – 3rd Offense
- Firearm Violation with 2 Prior Violent/Drug Crimes
- Conspiracy to Violate Drug Law
- Possession with the Intent to Distribute a Class D Drug
- Possession of a Class B Drug
25-year-old Christian Hernandez of Ludlow is charged with:
- Carrying a Loaded Firearm without a License
- Carrying a Firearm without a License
- Conspiracy to Violate Drug Law
- Possession with the Intent to Distribute a Class D Drug
