SPD Officers Rescue Man Threatening to Jump from the Memorial Bridge
Springfield, Mass. — On Wednesday January 14th at approximately 4:00 a.m., Springfield Police Officers under the direction of Lieutenant Eugene Roux, Sergeant Armenio Garcia and Sergeant Ivan Rosas responded to the Memorial Bridge for a report of an adult male stating he was going to jump over the bridge.
Officers located the male, who was on the ledge of the bridge, threatening to jump.
Sergeant Rosas built a rapport with the individual who after several minutes, climbed back over the ledge and onto the bridge. Officers were able to grab a hold of the individual who was transported to Baystate unharmed.
