Springfield Police C3 Officers Seize Loaded Firearm on Fort Pleasant Avenue
Springfield, Mass. — On Sunday November 2nd at approximately 10:10 a.m., members of the Springfield Police C3 Unit under the direction of Sergeant Jacob Werbicki seized a loaded firearm and arrested 27-year-old Jahleo Paquin.
Around 10 a.m. C3 Officers were conducting a park and walk patrol in the area of Fort Pleasant Avenue. The Springfield Police Department has received several complaints from citizens for breaking and entering's, trespassing, loitering and open-air drug activity in the area.
Officers observed a suspect, later identified as Paquin, loitering and smoking a marijuana cigarette (joint). As officers approached Paquin to inform him that smoking marijuana in public is a city ordinance violation, officers located a loaded firearm in his fanny pack. Paquin was placed under arrest.
27-year-old Jahleo Paquin of Springfield is charged with:
- Carrying a Loaded Firearm without a License
- Carrying a Firearm without a License
- Loitering - Ordinance Violation
- Consuming Marijuana in a Public Place - Ordinance Violation
