SPD Congratulates Six Newest Dispatchers

Springfield, Mass. — On behalf of the Springfield Police Department, Superintendent Lawrence E. Akers would like to congratulate the six newest members of the city's public safety team.

The graduation ceremony was held at the East Forest Park Library on Friday afternoon.  Mayor Domenic J. Sarno's Chief of Staff Bill Baker and Sergeant Orette Ho Sang joined members of the Springfield Fire and Emergency Communications Department to welcome these new dispatchers.  

Mayor Sarno states, “Congratulations to our newest 911 emergency dispatchers! On behalf of Fire Commissioner BJ Calvi, Police Superintendent Larry Akers, Deputy Fire Chief Mike Hess, 911 Dispatch Deputy Rebecca Ocasio and all of our brave and dedicated Fire, Police, and emergency response officials, we thank you and your families for your sacrifice and commitment working on the ‘frontlines’ to help enhance our public safety response for our residents and business community. Your professionalism, compassion and efforts are truly appreciated. Thank you.”

The six new graduates are: Trevon Akers, Laron Briscoe Sr., Orlando Gonzalez, Xashairys Gonzalez, Shirelle Lumpkin, and Colin Sasen.
