Mayor Domenic J. Sarno was honored to meet Vietnam Veteran Gerard Morin and his VA Outpatient Specialist Mark Matthiessen CVRT & COMS, who came to City Hall on Friday.
Mayor Sarno states, “Meeting Vietnam Veteran Gerard Morin and his VA Outpatient Specialist Mark Matthiessen was the best meeting of my day. It is because of the service and sacrifice of the men and women who serve in our Armed Forces, and their families, America stands as the greatest nation in the world – the beacon of democracy, strength, opportunity and hope. I want to thank Mark Matthiessen, who works with veterans who have lost their vision. Thank you, Mr. Morin, for your service. We also gave Mr. Morin and Mr. Matthiessen info on Springfield’s Veteran’s Tax Relief Hero Act Initiative, Veteran’s/ Blind Abatements and our targeted tax relief initiative programs, which they appreciated.”
