Mayor Sarno joins with City, State, and Federal Officials to Speak on Gateway Hardware Post Office Satellite Location

Mayor Domenic J. Sarno joined with, State Representative Bud Williams, Ward 4 City Councilor Malo Brown, School Committeewoman Barbara Gresham, Ayanna Crawford, representing Representative Orlando Ramos, Jesse Lederman representing Senator Ed Markey and Pine Point residents to speak on the termination of the Contract Postal Unit (CPU) Station #14 located at Gateway Hardware on Boston Road.

Mayor Sarno states, “Business Owner Tom McCarthy has operated the CPU Station #14 located at Gateway Hardware for over 40 years. This location provides essential postal services for the neighborhood and surrounding communities and is located in a strong blue-collar and business corridor neighborhood. The store is open late, and on Sunday’s making it a convenient stop for those who those who are in need of extended hours that the regular post offices do not offer. People are reliant on vital and life-saving medications that they can get through the mail at Gateway Hardware. Just as important, Mr. McCarthy and staff still offer that ‘Norman Rockwell’ old school style of a warm, trusted, and welcoming place to do business. I look forward to partnering with City, State, and Federal Officials to get this neighborhood staple to stay, as it is a hike to the two nearest post offices, and some people simply cannot get to either of them.”
