Mayor Domenic J. Sarno, Chief Development Officer Tim Sheehan, and Eco Dev Project Manager Wilson Darbin joined today to announce a new Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Small Business Program funding award to 413 Multi Service at 272 Main Street in Indian Orchard. The business was recently highlighted by Springfield City Council and the Springfield State Delegation as a “Business of the Year”.
“We’re proud to help this growing business with its Main Street location in the Indian Orchard neighborhood,” said Mayor Sarno. “This is exactly the kind of small business we strive to assist, providing needed services in our neighborhood commercial districts.”
413 Multi Service, owned and managed by Jose Luis Rodriguez and Carmen Valerio, provides individual and business tax filing assistance and other accounting services. https://413multiservice.com/
The $17,800 award will go towards new business equipment, furniture, and signage for the business.
“Mayor Sarno has been committed to assisting our small business community in every neighborhood, and this award on Indian Orchard’s Main Street is no different,” said CDO Sheehan. “Small businesses like 413 Multi Service are the lifeblood of our economy and responsible for the majority of our job creation in Springfield.”
The award is through the Small Business Assistance Program that the City of Springfield offers to small businesses in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) eligible areas. The program is funded by the United States Department of Housing & Urban Development, and administered through the city’s Office of Planning & Economic Development (OPED) and Community Development department.
