Mayor Sarno meets with Springfield College Student and SigmaPointPi Start-up Founder Tofael Hossain

Mayor Domenic J. Sarno was happy to sit down with his friend, Springfield College senior Tofael Hossain today. Tofael is studying Computer Science, Politics, and Finance at Springfield College and will graduate this May. Tofael shared that he has been accepted into the Master of Arts in Law and Diplomacy program at Tufts University for this fall. He has great passion for politics and community development here in Springfield and also shared about a start-up financial technology company he founded.The start-up is called SigmaPointPi and is a quantitative hedge fund research company that uses artificial intelligence to help make statistical predications.

Mayor Sarno states, “I continue to be very impressed by this bright and ambitious young man, Mr. Tofael Hossain, who also has a heart for community service. It was wonderful to catch up with Tofael today and hear about a start-up FinTech company he founded. It is on the cutting edge of technology and we had a great discussion about the pros and cons of Artificial Intelligence – AI. It is always a pleasure to meet young adults who are passionate and interested in politics to give them words of encouragement, advice and wisdom, which will hopefully help them in their future endeavors. Tofael has a bright future ahead and also hopes to help others which is so commendable.
