Mayor Sarno Domenic J. Sarno welcomes and appreciates CRRC and IBEW Local #7 Officials thank you visit. CRRC recently announced that more than 160 furloughed workers will soon be back to work after the release of its railcar shells from U.S. Customs and Border Protection, allowing the company to continue to provide safe quality vehicles to MBTA and the Los Angeles METRO- including a 64-car order ahead of the 2028 Olympics being held in Los Angeles, and to compete and secure future contracts with New York City too.
Mayor Sarno states, “I was elated that there was finally a break-through! Huge kudos to Congressman Neal- “Richie” for his yeoman efforts. I stayed in contact with him, Gov. Healey, Sen. Markey, MBTA Secretary Phil Eng and CRRC officials through out this so we kept a unified front to advocate for you all. Very nice of you to reach out to me. I deeply appreciated IBEW Local #7’s steward Marcus Cardosa’s words of – ‘Mayor, anytime we contacted you on this situation, you always followed through advocating for us and our families- you had our back!’ Continued success and good health to IBEW Local #7 and CRRC Officials. My Administration will continue to advocate for preserving and creating new jobs.”
