Mayor Domenic J. Sarno and Chief of Staff Bill Baker sat down today with members of the Springfield Caribbean Carnival Associations including District Fire Chief Curt Marcellin, Richie Richardson of Fab Fashion, and from the Caribbean American African Association Social Club (CAAASC) Delva Campbell as planning gets underway for this year’s annual Caribbean and Carnival events.
“My administration is proud to continue to support the Springfield Carnival Association’s mission to enhance and promote cultural and educational activities in Springfield and surrounding communities,” shared Mayor Sarno. “I proudly donate each year to support the Springfield Caribbean Carnival Associations Scholarship program that helps high school seniors of Caribbean heritage who are pursing higher education. I want to thank Fire Chief Curt Marcellin, Richard Richardson, Delva Campbell, and our Springfield Carnival Association for continuing to keep these traditions alive and strong. As I do every year, I am looking forward to joining with our Springfield Caribbean community and celebrating all of the festivities to come this year, including the flag raising ceremony, the Taste of the Caribbean and Caribbean Festival Parade / Carnival – stay tuned!”
