Mayor Domenic J. Sarno, Fire Commissioner B.J. Calvi, and members of the Springfield Fire Department will be hosted a promotional ceremony and badge pinning for two Captains, and two Lieutenants.
Mayor Sarno states, “Congratulations to the newly promoted brave and dedicated members of the Springfield Fire Department. These promotions are well-deserved and earned. On behalf of the city of Springfield, thank you and your families for your continued service to our Springfield community. We deeply appreciate your bravery and efforts. We must always remember and never forget that when everyone else is running out of that building, you are running in to save lives. Thank you and Godspeed.”
Captain Brian Couture was pinned by his daughter, Emerson Couture. Captain Couture is also a Medal of Valor recipient.
Captain Jason Fitzgerald was pinned by his wife, Wendy.
Lieutenant Ryan Wilkie was pinned by his children, David, Logan, and Declan.
Lieutenant Greg Smith was pinned by his wife, Kimberly.
