A Melody of Hope for Our Community

|   Community News

Olga Gavrilov, Springfield resident and independent artist, was captivated by the wonderful holiday lighting display throughout the city and decided to highlight and showcase the festive spirit of the new year through her music talents by filming a short video of her original song in the heart of downtown Springfield. Her video on welcoming the new year also features several of Springfield’s beloved landmarks, including the new renovated Court Square, Symphony Hall, City Hall, the Campanile Clock Tower all lit up for the new year.

Mayor Sarno states, “What a truly touching Melody of Hope, Love and Joy for the new year! Thank you, Olga for sharing this wonderful video that not only signs about peace, love and joy, but also highlights some of the beautiful landmarks in our downtown all lit up for the holidays. Your tribute displaying our beautiful and wonderful City is heartfelt and deeply appreciated. Thank you for showcasing your musical talents. It is because of residents like yourself that makes Springfield such a wonderful place to not only live and work but to truly call home. Our vibrant Springfield community is blessed because of our wonderful and talented residents.”

“I’d also like to thank my Chief Development Officer Tim Sheehan for our city’s funding efforts and of course Judy Matt, President of the Spirit of Springfield for their efforts too.”
