The City of Springfield Department of Public Works (DPW) would like to notify residents that there will be no collection of trash, yard waste, recycling or bulk item materials on Thursday, December 25, 2025 due to the Christmas Holiday and no collection on Thursday, January 1, 2026 in observance of New Year’s.
Residents normally scheduled for solid waste collection on Thursday, December 25th will have their items picked up on Saturday, December 27, 2025. Those schedule for regular collection on Thursday, January 1, 2026 will have their picked up on Saturday, January 3, 2026.
The Solid Waste Division reminds residents to place their items on the curb by 6:00 a.m.

DPW will begin the collection of Christmas Trees starting Tuesday, January 6, 2026, and will continue through Friday, January 30, 2026. Christmas Trees will be collected on your scheduled recycling day.
