A Summer’s Eve of Big Band Swing at one of Springfield’s most treasured historic sites

Music lovers and history enthusiasts are invited to enjoy an unforgettable evening of live music at one of Springfield’s most treasured historic sites. Dan Gabel and his Orchestra, featuring acclaimed vocalist Kimberley Clark, will perform a free concert at the Springfield Armory National Historic Site on Saturday, July 19, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.

Set against the backdrop of the historic Armory grounds, this open-air concert offers a unique opportunity to enjoy big band music in a setting steeped in American history. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets, and picnic baskets to relax and enjoy the performance in a welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere. Admission is free and open to all.

Dan Gabel and his Orchestra are renowned throughout the region for their spirited renditions of swing-era favorites, bringing to life the music of Glenn Miller, Duke Ellington, and other legends. The addition of Kimberley Clark’s powerful and soulful vocals adds a rich layer of artistry to an already dynamic show

While the museum itself will not be open during the concert, visitors are welcome to stroll the Armory’s scenic grounds and take in the atmosphere of this storied site, which played a central role in the nation’s military and industrial development.  Inclement weather moves the performance to the Springfield Technical Community College auditorium.
