We had a great week of events and announcements for our City of Springfield. We had thousands of people flock to the downtown and South End neighborhoods/areas for our Jazz & Roots festival, and after a twenty-year hiatus, the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Italian Feast returned with massive crowds.
On top of that, a huge welcome back to the very popular “Big Mamou Restaurant” to our Worthington Street “Restaurant Row” district (stay tuned for more well-known and established dining identities to follow).
And how about the Swan/Duck boats coming back to our Forest Park at our ECOS site on Porter Lake too! In this day and age, every time the news comes on, whether on TV, radio, print, and/or social media – “it’s doom and gloom.” A huge and heartfelt thank you goes out to all involved in making these events and announcements a reality. You all really reminded and highlighted the beautiful ethnic mosaic of our City of Springfield, not only to our own, but just as importantly, to our visitors. Working together, we make our city shine.
