Traffic on Main Street, from State Street to Bridge Street, will be come to a halt for the World’s Largest Pancake Breakfast on Friday, May 16, 2025.
At 10am, barricades will be placed where Main Street intersects with Bridge Street and at State Street. Traffic will be allowed to cross Main Street from Boland Way to Harrison Avenue, and travel down Court Street to City Hall Place and back to East Columbus Avenue. There will be “no parking” signs posted and enforced in the area starting on Thursday, May 15, 2025.
On Saturday, May 17, 2025, at 4am, Main Street from State Street to Bridge Street, Boland Way and Harrison Avenue, Court Street, and City Hall Place will close to traffic. The Springfield Police and Public Works will strategically post vehicle for “hard closures” to stop all vehicles from entering the streets reserved for the event. The streets will reopen around 3pm, and after the Spirit of Springfield, with the support of hundreds of volunteers, has served the World’s Largest Pancake breakfast, and it is been properly cleaned by the Springfield Business Improvement District with assistance from the Hampden County Sheriff’s Department.
The World’s Largest Pancake Breakfast, sponsored by MGM Springfield, will be held Saturday, May 17, 2025, from 8AM to 11AM on Main Street in Downtown Springfield. Breakfast, featuring pancakes, bacon, coffee, juice, milk, and water, will be $3 for adults and children are $1. Springfield Fire Commissioner B. J. Calvi, will serve as the event’s Honorary Chair.
