Mayor Domenic J. Sarno met with IT intern Jayden Chittams, a student at Springfield’s High School of Science and Technology, while Jayden and IT Specialist Ace were in the office to work on a computer.
Mayor Sarno states, “I was very happy to meet with Jayden Chittams, a student from Springfield’s High School of Science and Technology, and new intern in the City’s IT department. While Jayden continues his high-school career, he will gain real-world knowledge and exerperience within City Hall.”
Mayor Sarno continues, “We also have Springfield Public School students interning in other departments such as the Department of Public Works, and the Fire Department. Some of these interns have even gone on to get hired as full-time employees. Becoming an intern, and learning the ins and outs of a field, gaining experience and knowledge will help these students in their future careers.”
