Mayor Sarno brings greeting at 14th Annual Springfield Rotary Club Service Above Self Luncheon Event at the Basketball Hall of Fame

Mayor Domenic J. Sarno joined to bring greetings at the Westfield Bank 14th Annual Basketball Hall of Fame and Springfield Rotary Club Service Above Self Luncheon event on Thursday afternoon at Center Court in the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame.

This year’s honorees are well-known local residents John Sjoberg & Brenda Garton Sjoberg. John is the President and CEO of NEBM, a regional provider and servicer of office business machines, and Brenda is a Communications Professor at Western New England University and former TV News personality. The National Honoree is Allan Houston, former New York Knicks star and founder of the Allan Houston Legacy Foundation.

Mayor Sarno states, “First off, a big thank you to Frank Colaccino, President and CEO of the Colvest Group, for his continued efforts in making this an annual sellout event. It is always a heartwarming event as we celebrate great things being done in our community with the Rotary Club of Springfield. Congratulations to Brenda Garton-Sjoberg and John Sjoberg on being this year’s local honorees and thank you for your continued involvement in our community, their words today were so heartfelt. We deeply appreciate your work with our Spirit of Springfield, Link to Libraries, the Ronald McDonald House and more. I’d also like to congratulate to Allan Houston on being selected as the National Honoree – thank you for being there today and for what you do to give back – he was so genuine and humble.”
