Mayor Domenic J. Sarno joined today with Principal Terry Powe, Pre-K teacher Mrs. Hemingway, daughter of Ernest Hemingway, Paraprofessional Ms. Erica Gonzalez, and the students in the pre-k class at Brookings/Educare to read a book together. Mayor Sarno read “The Thankful book” to the students in preparation for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday. The students enthusiastically engaged with the Mayor during the story, with some even sharing their love of fashion and their favorite colors. Mayor Sarno was also the guest of honor for the Brookings/Educare Thanksgiving Balloon Parade, which featured Sonic the Hedgehog, Spiderman, and Pikachu to name a few.
Mayor Sarno stated, “It is always so inspiring to visit with our students and see how much they love to learn – they all were absolutely adorable! Thank you to Principal Terry Powe, Executive Director of Educare Ms. Nikki Burnett, Mrs. Hemingway, and Ms. Gonzalez for welcoming me today – we had a blast! I know these students will do great as they matriculate to kindergarten and will continue to help each other and keep learning.”
