The new apparatus includes Truck 2, a Pierce Mid mount platform aerial, and the Rescue Squad, a Pierce Ascender, both of which will be stationed at the Mason Square Fire House. The blessing was performed by Bishop Timmothy Bayman. Special shoutout to the SFD Repair Division for their hard work in preparing these vehicles for service.
Mayor Sarno states, "I want to commend Fire Commissioner BJ Calvi and CAFO Cathy Buono for their leadership and efforts in implementing our municipal vehicle fleet program that makes sure we have the proper equipment and vehicles needed to provide our residents and business community the services they need, especially when it comes to public safety. These two new fire trucks will be put into service at our Mason Square Fire Station and will greatly enhance the capabilities of our brave and dedicated fire fighters. My administration will continue to work tirelessly to ensure that our fleet of municipal vehicles; police, fire, DPW, parks, etc., will be updated and kept in good condition so we can provide the essential and core public services for our residents and neighborhoods."
