Mayor Domenic J. Sarno was honored to join with Martin Luther King Jr Family Services (MLKFS) President Shannon Rudder and team on Thursday evening for MLKFS’ Cheers to Our Champions celebration.
As the Martin Luther King Jr. Family Services team prepared to kick-off their inaugural 2024 Family Reunion Weekend, they came together with friends and supporters at White Lion Brewing on Thursday to share gratitude and celebrate. The 2024 Family Reunion Weekend is an opportunity for MLKFS alumni to come together to share stories, reunite with friends and mentors, and to celebrate the impact of the collective work towards building Dr. King’s vision of a beloved community.
Mayor Sarno states, “I have had a long history working with former Executive Director’s, the late Dora Robinson, from my days as he Executive Director of the South End Community Center and the late Ronn Johnson as a City Councilor, and now Mayor. I am glad to see the work that has been and continues to be done at MLK Jr. Family Services is truly meaningful and we are proud to partner with them on many initiatives. I am honored and proud to join with MLK Family Services as they celebrate more than 40 years of community dedication, working with many partners along the way. Thank you to MLK Jr. Family Services President Shannon Rudder and team for bringing us together around many positive and uplifting community movements and projects. There is a lot of great work to celebrate, as Dr. King’s, Dora’s and Ronn’s legacies live on .”
