Mayor Domenic J. Sarno was happy to meet with UniFirst Corporation General Manager Dan Waldon today along with Paul Caron. Mayor Sarno received a tour of the UniFirst facility located on Parker Street in Indian Orchard. The family-founded company has been around since 1936 and has been operating in Springfield since 1951. Today, UniFirst employs over 150 local residents and serves thousands of clients, many of them local businesses.
Mayor Sarno states, “I appreciate UniFirst General Manager Dan Waldon taking the time to show me around their facility and sharing more about what they do, not only as as uniform and facility service experts, but also what they do as a corporate citizen and employer. From employee training, tuition reimbursement, and scholarships, to their environmental practices and focus on being good neighbors, UniFirst has set high standards for themselves while operating one of country’s the largest workwear and textile service companies.”
