Mayor Sarno Enjoys a Visit from Rabbi Chaim Kosofsky

Mayor Domenic J. Sarno enjoyed a visit from Rabbi Chaim Kosofsky from Lubavitcher Yeshiva Academy. These visit have become a tradition over the years to welcome in Rosh Hashanah – the Jewish New Year. As part of the visit, Rabbi Chaim Kosofsky presented the Mayor with a Honey Cake. The significance of the Honey cake is that Honey does not go bad, it preserves, and for this reason stands for a Sweet New Year and preservation.

Mayor Sarno states, “It is always a pleasure to meet with Rabbi Chaim Kosofsky.  I enjoy our conversations and deeply appreciate the time he takes to continue the tradition of his late father-in-law, Rabbi Edelman, and provide me with a blessing and prayer of good health, wisdom and strength.  I want to thank Rabbi Chaim Kosofsky for gifting me with this Honey cake as part of the Rosh Hashanah custom and tradition, where Honey symbolizes the hope of a Sweet New Year.”
