Mayor Sarno Continues Community Dialogue on Community and Police Relations

Mayor Domenic J. Sarno continues community dialogue meetings in support of the Office of Racial Equity to help improve police and community relations with a focus on street outreach workers who will actively engage in early intervention and de-escalation methods.  In addition, the discussion included aspects to help identify solutions to the underlining issues within the community and to connect outreach efforts with available resources to improve the quality of life for those in need.

The meeting included a presentation from Brother True Allah, Intern Director for 413Fearless Conflict Resolution, who introduced the Peace Keepers Initiative and the organizations outreach efforts in Springfield and across the country.  

The meeting was coordinated with City Councilor Tracye Whitfield.  Also in attendance was Deputy Chief Rupert Daniel; Health and Human Services Commissioner Helen Caulton-Harris; Chief of Staff Tom Ashe, Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer Attorney Talia Gee; and Director of Constituent Services Darryl Moss.
