City of Springfield Municipal Group Illuminated by Zasco Productions in Support of #WeMakeEvents

Mayor Domenic J. Sarno is proud to support the efforts of Michael Zaskey, President / Owner of Zasco Productions, as the City of Springfield Municipal Group will be illuminated Tuesday evening in support of a coalition of trade bodies, businesses, unions, and live event workers, who have been hit hard by the COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic.

The COVID-19 pandemic has caused the live event, convention, and hospitality industries unprecedented economic impact.  To raise public awareness in support of the live events sector, the City of Springfield proudly joined with Zasco Productions and a coalition of event workers who on Tuesday, September 1, 2020 lit up various homes, buildings and facilities across the country to bring awareness to their trade through #WeMakeEvents.

Mayor Sarno stated, “I want to thank Michael Zaskey and his crews for bringing awareness during these challenging times by lighting up our beloved and historic Springfield Municipal Group.  These are unprecedented and surreal times we find ourselves in.  As we continue to work together to defeat and mitigate the community spread of this virus, we must thank and acknowledge everyone who has been affected by this pandemic.  Together, we will get through this and the City of Springfield will be one of the first ones to welcome back our brothers and sisters in the unions and live event workers.”

The Springfield Municipal Group consists of City Hall, Symphony Hall and the Campanile clock tower.
