Mayor Sarno – Courts Continue Revolving Door Policy on Repeat Violent Offenders

Mayor Domenic J. Sarno states, “With the recent arrest of Jalen Cotto on Monday on a warrant for shooting at a car on Roosevelt Ave during the day with a baby in the car marks the third time since July 2017 that Mr. Cotto has been arrested on gun charges. In July 2017, he was arrested for shooting in the air in a large group of people, striking a home and released. In January 2019, he was arrested for having a loaded firearm and released. ‘What the hell do we have to do to keep these violent repeat offenders off our streets and out of our neighborhoods!’ This is why it is so important that our state legislature moves on my Bail Bill and/or Governor Baker’s Dangerousness Bill ASAP.”
