First Firefighter Recruit Class of 2016 Graduates

The Graduation of Career Recruit Firefighter Class #S01 was held Tuesday, February 2, 2016. The new class of firefighters was both the first of the year, and also the first to graduate at the State's new Department of Fire Services Springfield Campus. Recruits hailed from East Longmeadow, Easthampton, Holyoke, Longmeadow, Springfield, West Springfield, and Westfield. Speakers included master of ceremonies Deputy Director Joseph Klucznik of the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy, Acting State Fire Marshal Peter J. Ostroskey, and Mayor Domenic J. Sarno. Congratulations to the newest group of area firefighters- Springfield recruits include Benjamin R. Bouffard, Christopher Hernandez, Luis Ribiero, and Ryan C. Sewchuk, who is a third-generation Springfield firefighter.
