Veterans Day Parade To Kick Off Sunday At 11:00 A.M. From Springfield Technical Community College

BACKGROUND:

The Veterans Day Parade will take place on Sunday, November 11, 2012, at 11:00 a.m., and step off from Springfield Technical Community College.  The parade will start at the corner of Federal and State Streets, continue down State Street to Main Street, turning right onto Main Street and continuing to Court Street and City Hall.

A brief ceremony will take place on the steps of Springfield City Hall which will include a wreath laying at the War Monument in honor of all who have served.  Many Veteran organizations, Springfield’s High School Junior ROTC units and multiple bands are expected to participate. 

Mayor Domenic J. Sarno will also participate in an event at 1:00 p.m., at the Veterans Cemetery in Agawam, Massachusetts on Sunday, November 11, 2012.
