Mayor Domenic J. Sarno and Patrick Sullivan, Springfield’s Director of Parks, Facilities and Recreational Management announced today that several swimming locations will be opening for the summer season on Saturday, June 30, 2012.
The following is a list of the swimming locations and the hours they will be open to the public:
- Gerena Pool 200 Birnie Avenue Open 11:00 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.
- Forest Park Pool 200 Trafton Road Open 11:00 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.
- Five Mile Pond 1020 Boston Road Open 11:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Additionally, the City’s Parks Department has a number of splash pads open in the City. The following is a list of splash pads and their locations:

Please note that the Van Horn Park splash pad is currently not operational due to repairs being made.
