Letter to the Editor:
In this day and age of reality TV/Media, where negativity seems to rule the day, good things can and will continue to shine here in our Springfield.
Simply put, last week all eyes locally, regionally and nationally were on Springfield. From the Amber Alert, which brought a suspect to justice and a girl home safely with the help of our Police Department and our community.
We hosted a successful first Red Sox Winter Weekend at MGM Springfield, the MassMutual Center and throughout our downtown amenities.
Finally, the best high school basketball showcase in the country returned to Springfield College and our Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame and saw Lebron James visit the birthplace of basketball. These events brought thousands of visitors to our Springfield.
Once again, a wonderful experience for a city that is showing it can handle big events, top stars with class and safety and just as importantly emphasizes how our Springfield community rallies together.
We know the Hoophall will be back and I feel confident that this is the beginning of a beautiful relationship with the Red Sox, MGM, and our City of Springfield. God Bless.
